Wall elements
Utilise the advantages of solid timber to the full
The solid wall components are in demand for residential and commercial construction not only due to ecology and the desire for healthy living environments. The layered construction principle on the basis of cross-laminated timber web elements enables safety in the building physics and is flexible with regard to the routing of pipes and cables and the energy standard. With corresponding proofs for fire protection, sound insulation and high earthquake resistance, even multi-storey timber buildings are possible. The Lignotrend timber wall is suitable for all energy standards.

Timber walls that are safe in terms of building physics
Solid inside – passive outside. The structure of the Lignotrend exterior wall is adapted to the specific layers of a building wall. The load-dissipating solid timber wall on the inside is enclosed and protected by a diffusion-open membrane. Thermal insulation made of natural insulating materials is then applied to the outside.

Wall element configuration options
The floor-to-ceiling cross-laminated timber elements are preassembled at the timber construction company (optionally also ex works) into large prefabricated parts. Assembly on the building site is quick with little rework.
Lignotrend wall elements can dissipate vertical loads from several storeys as well as horizontal forces from the building stiffening and from wind loads. The cross-laminated timber plate made up of 625 mm-wide modules dissipates earthquake forces particularly well.
With class REI 60, the wall constructions can also be produced in a highly fire retardant configuration for building class 4. For a safe, void-free implementation, the intermediate spaces are then filled, for instance, with glass wool and the electrical installations are installed with fire protection details.
Depending on requirements, the solid timber walls made of LIGNO® can also be configured for increased sound insulation requirements. For single and double-shell structures, test certificates certify the good characteristic values for the sound insulation to the outside and also inside the building, e.g. in the case of apartment partition walls.
If real wood on the wall is called for, the wall components are delivered with already finished wooden surfaces – for example in light-coloured, knotless silver fir.
Timber walls thus have a sophisticated look instead of a rustic one.
Flexible installation space is created in the wall elements through cavities integrated in the factory in a regular pattern. Cable outlets and openings for power sockets and light switches are made in the element during the preassembly.
The element structure with inner surface is designed in such a way that the solid timber can make full use of its natural hygroscopic capability to regulate the room air humidity. LIGNO® timber walls are natureplus-certified for the highest building biology quality.

Statics
Lignotrend optimises structural load-bearing cross-laminated timber as web and box elements. This uses the valuable timber material efficiently and in a resource-saving manner, depending on the demands, when used as ceiling, roof support structure or in wall components efficiently. Height or thickness of the elements are adjusted to the static conditions in the context of the design.

Ease of installation
With LIGNO® wall, ceiling and roof elements, optimising with cavities facilitates a rapid and simple installation process within the cross-section. Compared to entirely solid timber components, the installation layout with LIGNO® BSP is also much more flexible and subsequently modifiable – for example when changing the use of rooms.

Fire protection
Multi-storey buildings of building class 4 or 5 require a high fire resistance, while assembly rooms require fire-retardant surfaces. The layered structure of LIGNO® cross-laminated timber makes it possible to react flexibly to these requirements by equipping the element body as necessary with additional fire protection layers or pre-treated visible layers.

Design variety
The Lignotrend production department specialises in producing acoustic panels and load-bearing cross-laminated timber elements with high-quality visible surfaces in real wood. From aesthetic knotless to naturally knotty: For the one-ply-panels of the visible surfaces, Lignotrend processes various types and grades of as-grown timber.

Building acoustics
The acoustic design of a building with the goal of satisfied users is the best investment in value stability. Lignotrend aims to satisfy the highest comfort demands with its components for ceiling, roof and wall. Solutions are optimised in such a way that high design aesthetics are possible with visible real wood surfaces.

Easy to install
The standard floor-to-ceiling cross-laminated timber modules with a width of 625 mm, on the other hand, are usually joined together to make complete wall components in timber construction. They are provided with all openings and details, sometimes up to the complete wall, supplemented by insulation, façade and windows. On request, Lignotrend can also supply the house construction kit pre-assembled ex works – a welcome option for timber construction companies in times of good capacity utilisation.

Room climate effectiveness
Since 2006 Lignotrend products have complied with the very strict limit values for the natureplus® quality mark. This makes them officially the most environment-friendly and health-risk-free building materials in Europe. In buildings made of LIGNO® the special element structure favours a physiologically beneficial room climate, which prevents respiratory complaints and allergies.
