Acoustic panels made from 100% solid wood
Real wood delivers everything high-quality interior design demands: timeless aesthetics and long-term dimensional stability. Unlike conventional decorative panels, Lignotrend consistently relies on the Black Forest’s most valuable renewable resource. No MDF. No artificial felt. No plastics. The result: certified sustainable acoustic panels in professional-grade quality for noticeably improved room acoustics — naturally beautiful.
✓ Dimensionally stable, even in humid environments - all layers are made of solid wood
✓ 100% natural material - 0% synthetics, 0% chemical emissions
✓ Certified healthy indoor air quality - tested emission-free for a safe and comfortable indoor environment
PEFC certification ensures that the wood originates from sustainably managed forests. LIGNO® Acoustic Pro/light meets additional ecological standards. Natureplus and the IBR seal (for coated surfaces) guarantee maximum building biology safety for professional planning.

Controlling Reverberation in accordance with DIN 18041
Whether it’s a private kitchen-living space or a public assembly hall, every room has individual acoustic requirements and speech intelligibility needs. Lignotrend offers suitable acoustic panels for every application, enabling targeted optimization of room acoustics.
Reliable planning in accordance with:
✓ DIN 18041
✓ ÖNORM B 8115-3
The LIGNO® Acoustic Pro panel range enables precise compliance with acoustic performance requirements. With the free room acoustics calculator, the required amount of absorption surface can be reliably determined.
Hear the Difference
The following two audio examples demonstrate the acoustic conditions in a typical living/dining space.
Speech: room without acoustic panels
Sound example for a room with approx. 60 m² (~646 ft²) floor area
Traditional finish with plastered walls and ceiling, hard flooring, no carpet, and minimal sound-absorbing furniture
(reverberation time approx. 1.0 s).
Speech: room with acoustic panels
Sound example for the same room after installation
of a sound-absorbing ceiling system
(reverberation time approx. 0.4 s).
Room Acoustics with a System: Integrated Solutions for Walls and Ceilings
Good room acoustics require effective structural depth. While simple decorative panels typically only dampen high frequencies to a limited extent, LIGNO® Acoustic panels enable targeted sound absorption across a broad frequency spectrum.
The broadband effect results from the interaction of a sound-permeable surface, integrated absorber material, and a rear air cavity.
Accessories and Installation Guides: For easy implementation, LIGNO® Acoustic panels are available with all required system components and comprehensive installation guidelines.

Fire-Rated Acoustic Panels
In public buildings, interior cladding materials must meet fire safety requirements. LIGNO® solid wood acoustic panels can be treated with a non-toxic and permanently invisible fire-retardant solution.
For projects with enhanced requirements, LIGNO® Acoustic panels are available in reaction-to-fire class B-s2, d0 according to EN 13501-1. They are particularly suitable for public buildings such as schools, kindergartens, and sports halls.
Regulatory Compliance: Thanks to comprehensive technical documentation and CE marking, our systems provide high planning reliability for architects and fire safety consultants - from early design stages through to specification.
Natural Interior Design with LIGNO®
LIGNO® Acoustic panels bring the authentic aesthetics of nature into interior spaces, supporting a consistent biophilic design approach.
Design Flexibility with Multiple Wood Species: Depending on the panel type, various real wood surfaces are available. One of the most popular options is knot-free white fir from regional forests. LIGNO® Acoustic light/pro can be individually configured for larger order volumes — both in terms of wood species and slat profiles.

FAQ – LIGNO® Acoustic Panels
What makes LIGNO® acoustic panels different from conventional solutions?
Unlike many standard products, Lignotrend relies on 100% solid wood from the Black Forest. While typical felt-based acoustic panels often only reduce high frequencies, the three-layer cross-laminated timber structure enables broadband sound absorption (up to αw = 0.90). We consistently avoid synthetic felt, MDF, and chemical emissions, ensuring certification for healthy indoor environments and listing in the DGNB Navigator.
Are solid wood acoustic panels suitable for bathrooms or indoor pools?
Yes. Thanks to the cross-laminated solid wood construction, LIGNO® acoustic panels offer exceptional dimensional stability. They withstand humidity fluctuations far better than single-layer wood products, felt, or MDF. When properly installed, the high-quality solid wood does not warp or swell, offers natural antibacterial properties (oak), and features antistatic surfaces for easy maintenance — ideal for wellness areas and bathroom renovations.
What fire safety requirements do the panels meet in commercial projects?
For public buildings such as schools or assembly spaces, LIGNO® Acoustic light is available in the classification flame-retardant (B-s2,d0) according to EN 13501-1. The fire protection treatment is visually unobtrusive and fully preserves the natural wood appearance. In addition, many configurations are tested for impact resistance according to DIN 18032.
How are acoustic panels installed?
LIGNO® acoustic panels are mounted onto a substructure, which can be made of wood or metal depending on the application and requirements. To ensure a clean, concealed installation, Lignotrend offers special screws that are hidden between the slats.
Installation on a substructure not only improves sound absorption but also allows the panels to be leveled for a particularly smooth and consistent appearance. In addition to the screws, Lignotrend provides matching › accessories for the substructure. This installation method also allows for easy removal — making it suitable for rental properties. Further information and installation videos can be found in the › installation guides.
