Acoustic ceiling made from 100% wood
Genuine wood offers what demanding interior architecture requires: timeless aesthetics, structural quality, and lasting dimensional stability. Unlike conventional acoustic panels or grid ceilings, Lignotrend relies consistently on regional solid timber from the Black Forest - the number one renewable resource. No MDF, no synthetic felt, no plastic decor - just visible genuine wood with an acoustic function. Find out more about all the material differences in our acoustic panel comparison. The result: certified sustainable acoustic panels in professional quality - with tested sound absorption and a high-quality genuine wood surface.
✓ Exceptionally dimensionally stable: cross-laminated solid timber layers, suitable for humid rooms
✓ 100% natural wood: no synthetic felt, no MDF, and emission-tested
✓ Certified for healthy living: emission-tested and evaluated according to building-biology criteria, for a healthy indoor climate
PEFC certification guarantees that the wood originates from sustainable forestry. LIGNO® Acoustic Pro and LIGNO® Acoustic light meet additional ecological standards. natureplus as well as the IBR seal (for lacquered surfaces) guarantee maximum building-biology assurance in professional planning.
Sustainable building and refurbishment
Listed in the DGNB Navigator, Lignotrend stands for maximum transparency in sustainable architecture: for over two decades, we have been manufacturing load-bearing, multifunctional building components and complementary acoustic solutions from natural wood in the Black Forest. Lignotrend processing begins right at our own sawmill. LIGNO® Acoustic is the ideal choice for healthy-living new builds, commercial construction, and ecological refurbishment.

Reduce reverberation time in accordance with DIN 18041
Whether an open-plan office, indoor swimming pool, or public assembly venue: every room places its own demands on acoustics and speech intelligibility. Lignotrend offers the right wood acoustic ceiling for every application, to specifically improve room acoustics.
Design certainty in accordance with
✓ DIN 18041
✓ ÖNORM B 8115-3
The acoustic panel variants of LIGNO® Acoustic Pro enable precise compliance with acoustic specifications and achieve an αw value of up to 0.9. The free room acoustics calculator reliably determines the specific absorber area required. Find out more about room acoustics here.
Naturally beautiful room acoustics: hear the difference
The following two audio examples demonstrate the effect of sound-absorbing ceiling cladding using a sample room (a typical living/dining area) - before and after acoustic optimisation.
Room without an acoustic ceiling
Sound sample for a room with a floor area of approx. 60 m²
Classic finish with plaster on walls and ceiling, hard flooring, no carpet,
and few sound-absorbing furnishings
(reverberation time approx. 1.0 sec).
Room with a wood acoustic ceiling
Sound sample for the same room after
installation of sound-absorbing ceiling cladding
(reverberation time approx. 0.4 sec).
Diverse applications and versions of genuine wood acoustic panels
LIGNO® acoustic panels are suitable for both new builds and refurbishment projects:
✓ As a full-surface, suspended wood acoustic ceiling: also suitable for sloped ceilings.
✓ Ceiling canopies: an efficient solution above workstations, meeting areas and dining tables. Discover all acoustic ceiling canopies in our shop.
✓ Grid ceilings: element panels for easy insertion into common rail systems. › Enquire now.
Ball-impact resistant wood acoustic ceilings for sports halls and schools
Public buildings are subject to the highest requirements for the safety and robustness of interior fit-out products. In addition to a noticeable reduction in noise levels, acoustic ceilings must also withstand mechanical loads. LIGNO® acoustic panels in the Pro version offer certified safety according to DIN 18032-3, classes D1 and D2, for commercial construction. Ideal for gymnasiums and sports halls, school auditoriums, classrooms, day-care centres and kindergartens.
Fire protection without design compromises: fire retardant acoustic ceilings
In assembly venues and escape routes, increased requirements may apply to the reaction to fire of claddings (e.g. a requirement for fire retardant building materials). For this purpose, LIGNO® genuine wood acoustic panels can be treated with a health-safe fire protection agent that remains permanently invisible.
Fire retardant: for projects with increased requirements, LIGNO® acoustic panels are available in classification B-s2,d0 according to DIN EN 13501-1. Normative assurance: complete technical documentation and CE marking support design certainty for architects and fire protection assessors - from the design phase through to tendering.

Natural interior design with LIGNO®
Pure nature: LIGNO® acoustic panels bring the unspoiled aesthetic of genuine wood into every interior space, supporting a consistently biophilic design concept.
Design variety with numerous wood species: depending on the panel variant, different genuine wood surfaces are available. Particularly popular is knotless silver fir from local forests. From larger order quantities onward, LIGNO® Acoustic light and LIGNO® Acoustic Pro can be configured individually - both in terms of wood species and slat profile.

FAQ – Knowledge on LIGNO® acoustic ceilings
Which fire protection classifications are available for LIGNO® acoustic ceilings?
From a building authority perspective, the criterion "fire resistant" applies to load-bearing components. LIGNO® cross-laminated timber floor components achieve fire resistance class REI 90. For suspended acoustic ceilings, reaction to fire is the decisive factor - in commercial construction, for example above escape routes or in assembly venues, increased fire protection requirements apply. LIGNO® acoustic panels in the Pro version are available in a fire-retardant version and thereby achieve the European classification B-s2,d0 in accordance with DIN EN 13501-1.
What acoustic effect does an acoustic ceiling have?
Acoustic ceilings are a highly effective solution for improving room acoustics: in modern rooms, disruptive reverberation times often result from large sound-reflective surfaces such as floors, walls and ceilings. An acoustic ceiling makes it possible to put the largest unused surface in the room, which is typically the ceiling, to effective acoustic use. This achieves a very high acoustic effect without restricting usable floor area or wall space for furnishing and design. A further advantage: alongside the significant reduction in reverberation and noise level, the filigree genuine wood look of the acoustic ceiling strengthens the architectural quality of the interior. Shadow gaps support the precise, high-quality ceiling effect.
Are LIGNO® genuine wood acoustic ceilings also suitable for humid rooms?
Yes. LIGNO® acoustic panels are manufactured according to the cross-laminated timber principle and glued crosswise. This reduces the natural reaction of the wood to high interior air humidity to a minimum. As a result, they are particularly dimensionally stable and can be installed in both bathrooms and indoor swimming pools.
