Roundwood purchase
Worthwhile regional value creation for silver fir
Lignotrend uses silver fir, which is native to the Black Forest, to manufacture high-quality building products. It excels in the forest in terms of special climate and storm resistance.
Ibacher sawmill
Here, strong silver firs are turned into valuable timber
With the takeover of the Ibach sawmill, the regional value chain from the forest to the processor is restored or newly established for the silver fir stands. Large and small forest owners in the catchment area can sell silver fir to Lignotrend and benefit from reliable demand from Lignotrend production. The sawmill's ability to process heavy timber is the basis for this interesting sales opportunity.
Together with fair purchase conditions, the domestic silver fir stands are thus significantly upgraded. The catchment area stretches south of the B31 federal road from the Markgräflerland over the Hochrhein region to the Hegau. The nearby Alsace and the Swiss Jura are part of the extended catchment area.
Quality begins with the harvest
Our criteria for the roundwood
In order to be able to use the silver fir trunk as effectively as possible as a raw material for the Lignotrend products, an important switch has to be made already during the harvest of the strong wood, which deviates from the usual: The standard length for all trunks is 6.20 m,for second lengths without root attachment 3.10 m. The minimum pigtail diameter is 45 cm.
The minimum pigtail diameter is 45 cm (logs under 45 cm will not be quenched). We classify the qualities according to the general forestry classification into five classes:
L-TF, L-A, L-B, L-C, and L-D (the letter L stands for Lignotrend).
The measurement and classification of the logs is carried out by our purchasing partners to the best of their knowledge and belief, traceable via a weather-resistant ID number.
Log transport
Logistics from a single source
The log transport is handled in cooperation with the company Schlegel Holztransporte. The purchasing partners transmit the ID numbers together with the information on masses, volumes and quality of the cut fir logs as well as the exact coordinates of the storage location as an ELDAT data record to rundholz@lignotrend.de.
We guarantee to carry out the transport within 3-5 weeks after receipt of the timber list in our company. This can be delayed by various influences such as blocked access roads, snowfall, poor location, etc.
NOTE: In order to avoid quality degradation due to insects and fungi during longer lasting timber harvesting in the warm seasons, we are also happy to collect partial batches.
Sales processing
Fair pricing and timely payment
A uniform price list applies to all purchasing partners, even in the event of price adjustments. This means that all purchasing partners have the same competitive conditions on the timber market.
After checking the quantity and quality of the delivered roundwood, the sawmill manager gives feedback to the supplier so that he can issue the invoice and payment can be made within the agreed period.
In the event of any deviations from the data submitted in advance, the supplier shall be contacted.
